Van Cleef & Arpels plunges boldly into the new year with its spectacular four-piece Bals de Légende collection of timepieces. The watches include unique illustrations of dancing couples on mother-of-pearl dials inspired by four of the grandest balls in history. The Bal du Palais d’Hiver represents the 17th-century themed Russian ball held by Tsarina Alexandra. The watch’s pink gold setting surrounded with flawless round diamonds is tastefully complemented by pearly white straps. The Bal du Siècle represents the grandeur of the Venetian masquerade ball thrown by Don Carlos. With gold workings and a pink gold casing encrusted with state-of-the-art diamonds, the watch is completed with midnight blue straps. The Bal Black & White elegantly incorporates the graceful charm of the 1966 black and white ball held by writer Truman Capote. The watch is crafted with a white gold casing enveloped with pristine VVS diamonds perfectly contrasted with ebony straps. The Bal Proust revives the splendour of the French ball thrown in honour of Marcel Proust. Also featuring a white gold exterior and clear-cut VVS diamonds, this dazzling timepiece, another magical addition worth treasuring, has deep grey alligator straps.
