Where do you live and what do you like best about the area?

In the Mitte district where all the cool people used to live and all the wannabe cool people live now. It still has the highest density of art galleries and shops. The area between Mulackstrasse and Steinstrasse is home to at least a dozen shops of an astounding variety and quality: APC, Der Weisse Laden, two new Comme des Garçons stores, Berlin designers like Lala Berlin and Don’t Shoot The Messengers ... it’s shopping heaven.

Which show are you looking forward to most this season and why?

One of the shows I look forward to most is Vladimir Karaleev because he is the best without knowing it.

What are your must-haves for Berlin Fashion Week?

Hangovers and nervous breakdowns.

Which are the best show spaces?

Any space is good as long as the show is.

What are your tips for surviving Fashion Week?

Switching to autopilot.

Where do you stop for food during Fashion Week?

Grill Royal.

Which is your favourite Wi-Fi café?

The mother of Wi-Fi cafés, St Oberholz.

Which is your favourite place for a post-show cocktail?

King Size Bar.

What are your Fashion Week wardrobe staples?

Whatever is on top, I’ll throw it on.

Which is the most treasured piece in your wardrobe and what’s the story behind it?

A black vintage Margiela dress which people ask the same question about whenever I wear it: ‘Is this new?’ I bought it at Departmentstore Quartier 206 years ago. They have a shoe outlet in the basement where you can find incredible bargains – think 70% off of your favourite Louboutins or Sandersons.

What was your most recent luxury purchase?

A lipstick for which I paid the price of two dinners at Grill Royal – and it turned out that the colour is so not becoming.

Which is your favourite city for shopping?

I try not to be biased, but … Berlin.

Which is your favourite Berlin boutique?

I have at least 10. Happy Shop on Torstrasse is one of them.

Which are the most fashionable parts of Berlin?

Mitte and Charlottenburg. I have already mentioned some reasons for Mitte. Charlottenburg is quieter, more established and sophisticated. There’s a small stretch on Kurfürstendamm where you can find all the luxury boutiques, YSL, Prada and so on, all conveniently placed next to each other like pearls on a string. You will also find second hand shops on Bleibtreustrasse, Windscheidstrasse and Sybelstrasse, where you can make incredible vintage finds: Alaïa, Halston, Lacroix etcetera. This is also the only area in Berlin where you will spot fur and big jewellery on the street.

Who is your favourite designer and why?

This changes by the season. I never wear anything but plain colours but I love patterns and prints, so, even if I don’t wear her designs at the moment, it’s Mary Katrantzou.

Who is your favorite style icon?

My washing machine. It shrunk a sweater which now looks fantastic on me.
