Kastner & Öhler, which dates back to 1873, is one of Austria’s oldest department stores. Located in the city centre of Graz, the house has just doubled its sales area to 215,000 square feet after an elaborate renovation. With its gilded plastering, illuminated vaults and elegantly interwoven stairways, it resembles an opera house rather than a shopping centre and stocks more than 500 diverse brands, from Armani to Adidas.
