Der Töpferladen was founded in 1865 in Nuremberg. The family-owned company sells a range of pottery and craft items as well as beer steins, Christmas ornaments and cuckoo clocks. Der Töpferladen started by producing its own pottery and in the early 1900s it had a number of stores in the city. However, these were destroyed during the Second World War and the family then traded from a market stall. A store, at Heilig-Geist-Spital, opened in 1955, which still remains. The main outlet is now by the beautiful fountain.
